Welcome to the Mana Kids language activity section. This month's (March 2005) theme is 'Kai Moana' or seafood.

To make your own kete (basket) filled with yummy kai moana click on each of the following images below - this will open a new window with a picture to be printed out. Print this picture (file/print), then follow the instructions further down.

 

After you have made your kete and kai moana try the word puzzle.

 

Print these pictures (click on each one) - cut them out and colour the them in.

Instructions

(1) - Print out all the kete (part A & B) and kai moana, and colour them in.

(2) - Sticky tape or glue the bottom and edges of the kete together, leaving the top open.

(3) - Stick together the matching pieces of kai moana so that the words are on the outside.

(4) - As you place you kai moana into the kete you can learn the Maori names by seeing the English name on one side and flipping over to see the Maori name on the other.
